East Coast Railway scripts history with 500 million tonnes freight record

Bhubaneswar, Mar 14 (UNI) East Coast Railway (ECoR) has created a historic milestone by becoming the only zone in the history of Indian Railways to handle 500 million tonnes (MT) of freight in a single year.
This remarkable achievement highlights the zone’s strong operational efficiency and its crucial contribution to the nation’s freight transportation network.
During the year, East Coast Railway recorded 262.9 MT of freight loading, registering a 10.4 percent growth, while unloading reached 237.6 MT, reflecting a 9 percent increase compared to the previous period.
