EAM meets Israeli FM, Fijian PM, Mongolian counterpart at Munich Security Conference

Munich/New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, Fiji’s PM and FM Sitiveni Rabuka, Fatih Birol, Executive Director of IAEA, and Battsetseg Batmunkh, the Foreign Minister of Mongolia, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
In posts on X, the EAM said that he and the Israeli FM discussed the situation in Middle East:
“Great to meet FM @gidonsaar of Israel on sidelines of #MSC2025.
“Exchanged views on the current situation in West Asia/Middle East. Underlined the strength and significance of our bilateral partnership.”
On his meeting with the Fijian PM and FM Rabuka, he posted:
“An honour to meet PM & FM @slrabuka of Fiji this evening.
“Always nice to hear his recollections, views and insights.”
He also met with Johann Wadephul, Deputy Chairman, Jürgen Hardt MdB and Thomas Erndl of the CDU·CSU of Germany.
“A pleasure interacting with Deputy Chairman @JoWadephul Johann Wadephul, @juergenhardt Jürgen Hardt MdB and @TErndl Thomas Erndl of @cducsubt CDU·CSU.
“Underlined mutually beneficial opportunities in a stronger India - Germany and India - EU partnership.”
The CDU (Christian Democratic Union) and CSU (Christian Social Union) are sister parties. Together they form the CDU/CSU block of the German Parliament
On his meeting with the IAEA executive director, he posted:
“Nice to see @fbirol Fatih Birol, Executive Director of @IEA on the sideline of #MSC2025.”
Fatih Birol in a post said:
“Pleasure to see India’s External Affairs Minister @DrSJaishankar in Munich & discuss the strong India-@IEA relationship, including the recent affirmation of firm U.S. support for India to become a full IEA member highlighted at the meeting of President Trump & Prime Minister Modi.”
The EAM also met with the Mongolian FM Battsetseg Batmunkh.
“A warm conversation with FM @BattsetsegBatm2 of Mongolia today.
“Appreciate the steady advancement of India-Mongolia cooperation. Spoke about deepening our engagement in culture, business, development partnership and technology.”
The EAM also participated in a conversation on ‘Exception and Exceptionalism: Deciphering the 2025 World Order’ at the MSC.
“Joined President @alexstubb Alexander Stubb of Finland, Lana Nusseibeh, @JonHuntsman and @NathalieTocci for a conversation on ‘Exception and Exceptionalism: Deciphering the 2025 World Order’ at #MSC2025.
