EAM holds talks with IPU President and Tanzania Parliament Speaker

New Delhi, July 23 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday met the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and Speaker of Tanzania’s National Assembly Tulia Ackson during which they discussed bilateral ties as well as development challenges of the Global South.
In a post on X, the EAM said:
“Glad to meet President, Inter-Parliamentary Union and Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania @TuliaAckson this afternoon.
“Discussed India-Tanzania relations as well as Parliamentary exchanges. Exchanged views on development challenges of the Global South as well as reformed multilateralism.”
Tulia Ackson was welcomed by the Parliament of India today, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla held talks with her and hosted a banquet lunch in her honour.
IPU is the world organization of parliaments, and a global forum for parliamentary dialogue, cooperation and action.
