Durgapur Court sends three accused in medical student gangrape case to 10-day police custody

Kolkata, Oct 12 (UNI) A Durgapur sub divisional court remanded three men to 10-day police custody for their alleged involvement in the gangrape of a medical student from Odisha, studying at a private medical college in West Bengal’s Paschim Bardhaman district, today.
The accused have been charged with gangrape and criminal conspiracy under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM), Durgapur, granted the prosecution’s plea seeking police custody to facilitate interrogation and to trace other individuals suspected to be involved in the crime.

Tripura court convicts three Bangladeshi nationals
