Duplicate & banned cigarettes worth Rs 1 crore seized

Hyderabad, Oct 5 (UNI) The Hyderabad City Police on Saturday arrested five individuals and seized duplicate and banned cigarettes worth Rs 1 crore from their possession.
Based on credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone Team, along with local police, conducted simultaneous raids on godowns under the jurisdiction of Malakpet, Madannapet, and Shalibanda Police Stations and seized the cigarettes.
During the operation, the police apprehended the accused involved in importing, storing, and distributing duplicate Gold Flake cigarettes and banned foreign brands such as Paris, Win, Esse, Don, and Peacock, which are known to be highly hazardous to human health, a police statement said.
