Draft misinformation law faces delay for alignment: Parameshwar

Bengaluru, Feb 19 (UNI) Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwar on Thursday said that the Misinformation Act is currently being drafted and is likely to be brought either in the next legislative session or the one after.
He explained that the process is taking extra time as the state law must be aligned with the central government’s legislation.
The proposed legislation is aimed at curbing the spread of misinformation and fake news, including online content that causes social unrest or harms public trust.
