Diane Keaton’s ‘Annie Hall’, ‘Something’s Gotta Give’ return to theatres in tribute

Los Angeles, Oct 14 (UNI) In a tribute to the late Hollywood legend Diane Keaton, AMC Theatres is set to re-release two of her most celebrated films, ‘Annie Hall’ and ‘Something’s Gotta Give’ across 100 cinemas nationwide.
According to Variety, the special screenings will begin this Friday and run for one week, allowing audiences to revisit Keaton’s timeless performances on the big screen.
Originally released in 1977, Annie Hall earned Keaton her first Academy Award for Best Actress, marking a defining moment in her illustrious career. The Woody Allen-directed classic follows Alvy Singer (Allen), who reflects on his failed relationship with nightclub singer Annie Hall (Keaton) through a witty, surreal lens.
The film remains a milestone in romantic comedy, celebrated for its sharp writing and Keaton’s quirky, unforgettable charm. Also returning to theatres is Something’s Gotta Give (2003), which earned Keaton her fourth Oscar nomination for Best Actress.
Directed by Nancy Meyers, the romantic comedy was a major box-office success, grossing over $265 million worldwide. Keaton starred alongside Jack Nicholson, playing Erica Barry, a playwright who unexpectedly falls in love with her daughter’s boyfriend during a Hamptons getaway.
Diane Keaton, born Diane Hall in Los Angeles in 1946, passed away on October 11 at the age of 79.
The eldest of four children, she drew inspiration from her mother’s creativity and built a career that spanned decades, defined by authenticity, intelligence, and a distinct sense of style.
Though she never married, Keaton shared close relationships with Warren Beatty, Al Pacino, and Woody Allen. Her performances in films like The Godfather, Manhattan, and Baby Boom continue to inspire generations of actors and filmmakers.
AMC’s special re-release stands as a fitting homage to a trailblazing actress whose work reshaped the landscape of romantic comedies and redefined what it meant to be a leading lady in Hollywood. UNI MI SSP
