Dia Mirza joins viral trend, remembers RHTDM days with R. Madhavan

New Delhi, Jan 17 (UNI) Actor Dia Mirza took fans on a nostalgic journey as she joined the viral “This Was 2016” trend, posting a set of old pictures that revived memories for fans of her early films.
Sharing the photos on Instagram on Saturday, Dia posted behind-the-scenes and photoshoot images with her ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’ (RHTDM) co-star R. Madhavan, popularly known as Maddy, as the film nears its 25th anniversary this October.
In her caption, Dia wrote, "This was 2016. On 19th October 2026, it will be 25 years. A gift that keeps on giving. The film was released in 2001. Name the film. Oh Maddy Maddy, look what showed up?"
For many fans, Dia and Madhavan as Reena and Maddy remain one of Bollywood’s most beloved on-screen pairs.
Despite being released over two decades ago, the film’s songs, dialogues, and story continue to resonate, holding a special place in viewers’ hearts.
Produced by Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment, ‘RHTDM’ also featured Saif Ali Khan in a pivotal role and marked the Bollywood debut of both Madhavan and Dia Mirza.
Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, the romantic drama is a Hindi remake of his own Tamil film Minnale, which released earlier the same year.
