Dharmendra Pradhan urges youth to take Odisha’s Sital Sasthi to global stage through digital storytelling

Bhubaneswar, June 18 (UNI) union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday called upon the youth to promote the cultural and spiritual grandeur of Odisha’s revered Sital Sasthi festival globally by creating engaging reels and social media content that showcase its unique traditions and heritage.
Extending his heartfelt greetings and best wishes through a video message to people across Odisha, particularly the residents of Sambalpur, Pradhan described Sital Sasthi as one of the state’s most cherished cultural and spiritual celebrations.
Highlighting the uniqueness of the festival, he said Sital Sasthi is distinguished by its tradition of “Manabiya Leela” (humanized divine play), where Lord Shiva appears as an ordinary groom and visits the bride’s family in a ceremonial procession, symbolising the close bond between divinity and humanity.
