Dharmendra hospitalised for observation; Hema Malini requests prayers for his recovery

Mumbai, Nov 10 (UNI) Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, aged 89, is currently undergoing medical treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai, where he remains under continuous observation.
His wife, Hema Malini, confirmed the news on Monday and appealed to fans and well-wishers to pray for the actor’s speedy recovery.
In her social media statement, Hema Malini expressed gratitude for the overwhelming concern shown by fans and the film fraternity, assuring that family members are by his side during this period.
She added that the family remains optimistic about his recovery and appreciates the public’s support.
Dharmendra, one of Hindi cinema’s most beloved and enduring stars, has been admitted for several days following health complications attributed to age-related concerns.
Sources from within the film industry have described his condition as serious but stable, adding that the actor continues to receive specialised medical attention.
Addressing widespread media speculation, Sunny Deol, Dharmendra’s son, released a statement through his representative denying reports that his father had been placed on ventilator support.
According to the official clarification issued by Deol’s PR team, Dharmendra’s condition remains stable and he continues to be under careful medical supervision. The statement further requested fans to continue praying for his recovery while respecting the family’s privacy during this difficult time.
Family members, including Hema Malini, Sunny Deol, and Esha Deol, have been visiting the hospital regularly to spend time with the veteran actor. Prominent film personalities such as Salman Khan also visited the hospital.
Dharmendra, whose career spans more than six decades, is celebrated for his remarkable body of work in Hindi cinema, with iconic roles in classics such as Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Satyakam, Seeta Aur Geeta, and Phool Aur Patthar.
Fans across the country have flooded social media with messages wishing the legendary actor strength and a full recovery.
