Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma Slams Govt, Calls Excise Dept 'Laboratory of Failed Experiments'

Dharamshala, Jan 14 (UNI) Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma once again launched a sharp attack on Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, alleging that the Congress government has turned the Excise Department into a "laboratory for experiments" without foresight or understanding of ground realities.
Sharma said the government first made abrupt changes to the liquor policy, failing to auction vend. It then decided to run liquor vends on its own, a move he claimed proved a complete failure.
He added that even deploying Home Guards for security at vends failed to stabilise the system. Now, with losses clearly visible, the government has announced implementation of e-tendering from the next financial year, he said.
