DGP directs smooth induction, deployment of CAPF units in J&K for Amarnath Yatra

Srinagar, June 12 (UNI) Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat, on Thursday issued directives to ensure the smooth induction of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) companies for the upcoming Amarnath yatra, emphasizing that district heads must make proper arrangements for the incoming units and ensure their effective deployment on the ground.
While there is no official word about the number of CAPF companies being deployed for the 38 day Yatra beginning July 3, sources said nearly 50,000 CAPF were being inducted along the two designated routes of Pahalgam and Baltal.
A police spokesman said DGP Prabhat chaired a high-level review meeting regarding the administrative and logistical preparations for the incoming CAPF companies (coys) to be deployed for Yatra.
