Devotees protest Govt takeover of Gaali Anjaneya Temple

Bengaluru, July 12 (UNI) Tension prevailed at the historic Gaali Anjaneya Temple on the outskirts of the city as devotees staged a protest against the Karnataka government's decision to take over the temple’s administration.
Chanting the Hanuman Chalisa, devotees gathered in large numbers and expressed strong resentment over the move. Protesters claimed that the government had locked the temple’s hundi (donation boxes) and seized control of the lockers without proper consultation with the local community.
A notice by the Muzrai Department, stating that the temple has now come under government control, was reportedly pasted on the premises. This triggered sharp reactions from the local devotees, who have demanded a rollback of the decision.
