Deve Gowda announces Rs 1 lakh for Hassan victims

Hassan, Sept 14 (UNI) Former Prime Minister and JD(S) Rajya Sabha MP HD Deve Gowda today announced that his party would provide Rs 1 lakh to the families of each of the 10 victims of a recent tragic incident in Hassan district.
The party will also provide compensation ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 20,000 for the 24 injured, depending on the severity of their injuries. Deve Gowda described the incident as horrific and extended condolences to the families affected.
"Since our party is small, we have decided to extend whatever support we can to the victims and their families," Deve Gowda told reporters. The injured have been admitted to a government hospital and are receiving treatment.

AP govt to present awards for best journalists for year 2025-26

Vijayawada, May 13 (UNI) The government of Andhra Pradesh will present awards to the journalists who have demonstrated outstanding excellence in the field of journalism for the year 2025-26.
Addressing a press conference, flanked by I&PR Director KS Viswanathan, here on Wednesday, CR Media Academy Chairman Alapati Suresh Kumar said that the government has set up a four-member committee chaired by him.

AP Govt aimed to make 5 lakh women entrepreneurs: Minister

Vijayawada, May 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for SERP and Rural Poverty Elimination Kondapalli Srinivas has reiterated that the government has aimed to create over 5 lakh women entrepreneurs and directed the officials to coordinate and extend all required help to the women.
The Minister held a meeting with the SERP officials and reviewed various issues here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasized that training should be imparted to artisans and handicrafts to improve their skills.
