Deputy CM Pawar urges Centre to stop illegal import of low-quality raisins from China

Pune, July 11 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance & Planning Minister, Ajit Pawar, has written to the central government demanding an immediate halt to the illegal import of low-quality raisins from China that evade taxes and harm local grape growers.
In his letter to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Pawar expressed serious concern over the illegal influx of substandard Chinese raisins into Maharashtra.
He highlighted that such imports not only result in massive losses to the state's grape-producing farmers but also lead to significant revenue loss for the country.

Maha: ACB officials nab three for accepting bribe

Kolhapur/Satara, March 11 (UNI) Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials from the Satara division arrested three suspects, including a president of Chandrahar Patil Rural Education Institutions, a library clerk and a private agent, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from a complainant in exchange for facilitating a promotion to the position of professor in a college.
