Delhi Police constable held for assaulting ex-girlfriend in Gurugram

Chandigarh, Jun 11 (UNI) A Delhi Police constable has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend, attempting to force his way into her residence, and creating a disturbance in a residential society in Gurugram, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place in Jalvayu Vihar, a residential society in Sector 56, where CCTV cameras installed in the area reportedly captured the entire sequence of events. Videos circulating on social media allegedly show the accused physically assaulting the woman in public.
According to police, the accused has been identified as Ronit Yadav, a resident of Indirapuram in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He is currently posted as a constable with the Delhi Police and was reportedly serving at a Metro station at the time of the incident. He has been arrested and sent to judicial custody after a court rejected his plea seeking protection from arrest.
