Delhi Police arrests Burdwan couple for murdering a university professor in Delhi

Asansol, Jun 7 (UNI) Delhi Police, with assistance from East Burdwan district police, have arrested a couple from Burdwan town in connection with the sensational murder of a Delhi University assistant professor, whose body was found inside her East Delhi apartment earlier this week.
Investigators said the arrests on Saturday night came after an extensive probe involving the examination of CCTV footage from the apartment complex of the victim, Debasmita Pal, and its surrounding areas.
The footage allegedly helped police identify and track the accused, who are believed to have travelled nearly 1,400 kilometres from Burdwan to New Delhi to carry out the crime.

Bengal: Six-year-old raped for more than a year; Cousin arrested

Kolkata, Jul 10 (UNI) A 27-year-old man working as a sales executive in a private company has been arrested for allegedly raping his six-year-old cousin for over a year.
The police identified the man as Rajib Biswas.
The girl was taken to the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Thursday after she complained of pain and discomfort in her private parts to her parents, police sources said.
