New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) As many as seven people have been rescued, and several are feared to be trapped under the debris after a two-story house collapsed in central Delhi’s Karol Bagh area on Wednesday.
“We received the information about the incident at 9:11 AM and immediately dispatched five fire tenders to the spot at Bapa Nagar in Karol Bagh. The rescue operation is still underway,” Delhi Fire Services officials told UNI.
No causalities have been reported in the incident so far.
Terming the incident as unfortunate, Delhi Chief Minister designate Atishi ordered the District Magistrate to provide all possible help to the victims and called for an inquiry into the incident.
In a social media post on X, Atishi said, “This incident of house collapse in Karol Bagh area is very sad. I have ordered the District Magistrate to provide all possible help to the people living there and the victims; if anyone is injured, get him treated and find out the reasons for this accident.”
I have also spoken to the Municipal Corporation Mayor regarding the accident, she said.
Highlighting that there has been a lot of rain this year, Atishi further asked people to inform the administration and the corporation if they get in contact with any accident related to construction and said that the government will immediately help you.
