Delhi Cong demands Rs 1 cr compensation for gig worker killed in alleged police firing

New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) The Delhi Congress on Friday demanded Rs 1 crore compensation, a government job for a family member, and strict action against a Delhi Police constable accused in the killing of a gig worker.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Devender Yadav alleged that Pandav Kumar was shot dead by a police constable who allegedly targeted him over his Bihar origin. He said the party would continue its agitation until the family receives justice.
Devender Yadav announced that the Congress would organise a “Kalash Yatra” carrying the ashes of the deceased across different parts of Delhi along with the victim’s family members. According to him, the family has decided not to immerse the ashes until strict punishment is awarded in the case.
