Delhi CM presents Rs 1 lakh cr budget for financial year 2025-26

New Delhi, Mar 25 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday presented the Budget for the financial year 2025-26 with an outlay of Rs one lakh crore.
This Budget is the first presented by a BJP government in Delhi in after 27 years.
As Delhi Chief Minister and Finance Minister Rekha Gupta stood up to present the budget, the Bharatiya Janata Party legislators raised "Modi, Modi" slogans and greeted her by thumping the table.
She presented a budget of Rs 1 lakh crore for the financial year 2025-26 in the Assembly. "This budget will not only open new avenues for the overall development of Delhi but will also strengthen the prospects of progress in every field," he said in his budget speech. It will give a new dimension to education, health, transport and infrastructure. The budget has earmarked Rs 28,000 crore for infrastructure development.
This amount will be used in roads, bridges, drainage, transport and other public services. The finance minister said that this budget will prove to be a strong step towards transforming Delhi into a smart and modern city.
The BJP government in Delhi presented its first budget after 27 years.

The NIA special court in Bengaluru, Karnataka, has also imposed a fine of Rs.63,000 on Maharashtra resident Hamraz Worshid Shaikh, who pleaded guilty during the trial that began in April 2026.
