Deepti Sharma honored at Lucknow headquarters

Lucknow, Nov 14 (UNI) Star all-rounder of the Indian women’s cricket team and DSP of the Uttar Pradesh Police, Deepti Sharma, was warmly welcomed on Friday at the Police Headquarters in Lucknow.
The Director General of Police (DGP) called her a pride of the department, while Deepti described the UP Police as her family. The headquarters resounded with applause multiple times during the special reception for the celebrated officer.
As Deepti arrived at the Police Headquarters on Shaheed Path for the felicitation ceremony, excitement rippled through the officers and staff. Women police officers expressed their eagerness to meet her, and Deepti posed for photographs with everyone, smiling warmly.

Victim's parents move SC against acquittal or computation of death sentence

Shimla, Dec 12 (UNI) The family of four-year-old murder victim Yug Gupta has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Himachal Pradesh High Court’s September 23 judgment that commuted the death sentences of two convicts and acquitted the third.
Family sources told UNI that Yug’s father, Vinod Gupta, has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the apex court, which has been accepted for hearing.
