Death toll in Meghalaya floods, landslides mounts to 15

Shillong, Oct 6 (UNI) The death toll in Meghalaya floods and landslides rose to 15 with authorities reporting five more deaths on Sunday, officials said.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Sunday retrieved the bodies of the father-son duo from flood water in West Garo Hills district, while bodies of a mother-daughter duo were recovered from a landslide and a man died when a tree fell on his car late Saturday night in East Garo Hills district, officials said.
The bodies of father-son duo identified as Bijoy S Sangma (44) and Wian Chicago R Marak (14) were recovered from Dalu Sonagre junction after their vehicle bearing West Bengal registration number WB 06 7718 was washed by the high current of the flood waters on Friday, officials said.
