Lucknow, Feb 18 (UNI) Countering the controversial statement of senior Congress leader and former MP Udit Raj, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday said that Congress, which has scorned humanitarian struggle of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar at every level, cannot be trusted by the exploited class and the Dalit community will never be misled by it.
Taking to 'X', Mayawati wrote, "The Congress party, which has scorned Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar's humanitarian struggle for self-respect and self-esteem for crores of exploited and oppressed Dalits/Bahujans at every level, can never be true and trustworthy in their thinking and policies."
She said, "No matter how many programmes Congress organises in the name of 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Mandal, Jai Samvidhan' for purely political and electoral gains, Baba Saheb's followers are not going to be misled by them. They are aware and vigilant and are struggling to stand on their own feet."
Countering Udit Raj's statement, the BSP supremo said, "Bahujan Samaj needs to be cautious of some turncoat opportunists and selfish Dalits who keep making baseless statements to please their masters and should not take them seriously because they are unaware and unfamiliar with the 'social change and economic liberation' movement."
It may be noted that while referring to the Bhagavad Geeta in a press conference here on Monday, former MP Udit Raj had said that he had received orders from Lord Krishna that the time had come to strangle Mayawati.
There is a lot of anger in the BSP due to his statement. BSP leader Akash Anand has even demanded the arrest of Udit Raj.
