Cycle Pure Agarbathi celebrates 75 yrs in Chennai

Chennai, June 14 (UNI) Cycle Pure Agarbathi, India's leading agarbathi manufacturer, has celebrated its 75th year of carving a niche in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.
The brand is committed to quality and tradition, fulfilling 12 million prayers across the country with its natural and ethically sourced agarbathi, Company Managing Director Arjun Ranga told reporters here.
Founded in 1948, Cycle Pure Agarbathi has successfully evolved to establish a strong presence in India and abroad, earning trust and loyalty of millions of devotees. The brand, under NR Group, has since diversified into various business categories like functional air care products through Lia for room fresheners and car fresheners, wellness home fragrance products through IRIS Home Fragrances under Ripple Fragrances, floral extracts with NESSO, and Rangsons Technologies.
With the aim of giving back to the society, NR Foundation, the group's non-profit charitable trust, was founded to empower women and underprivileged individuals by earmarking a share of profits towards pressing societal challenges.
The success of the initiative in Chennai further provided impetus for the firm to extend to other regions in India.
Cycle Pure Agarbathi also strives to empower women, with over 80% of its manufacturing workforce consisting of women. In Tamil Nadu alone, the company has expanded its female workforce to 3,000. This ongoing initiative includes creating new employment opportunities for women, providing training programs, and supporting women-led entrepreneurs in the agarbathi industry.
In the effort to create a better environment for future generations, it has taken significant strides towards sustainability, and is currently the only agarbathi manufacturer to reduce their carbon footprint. Additionally, the company has implemented energy-efficient processes and waste management systems in their manufacturing units to significantly minimize their carbon footprint by 2026.
The brand is also actively working towards eliminating plastic by transitioning to eco-friendly materials such as recyclable paper and biodegradable alternatives for their product packaging.
