CUJ professors receive ₹11 lakh ICSSR grant for seminar and capacity building programme

Ranchi, July 18 (UNI) The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) has sanctioned a grant of ₹11 lakh to Professor Tapan Kumar Basantia of the Department of Education, Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ), for organising a two-day national seminar and a two-week capacity building programme (CBP). Dr. Sanhita Sucharita, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Development Studies at CUJ, will serve as the co-director of the CBP.
Of the total amount, ₹3 lakh has been allocated for the national seminar, while ₹8 lakh has been earmarked for the capacity building programme.
The national seminar will focus on the theme “Reimagining Teacher and Teacher Education as per the Vision of National Education Policy 2020: Perspectives from Indian Knowledge Traditions to Global Discourses on Education.” Prof. Basantia said the event aims to orient the country’s teacher education system through a dual lens—rooted in Indian knowledge traditions and aligned with global educational perspectives—as envisaged by the National Education Policy 2020.
