Criminal sustains injury in police firing

Jammu, Feb 8 (UNI) A wanted criminal was injured in police firing while another was nabbed during a special operation launched by a team of Jammu Police in Miran Sahib area here in the city outskirts.
Police said that acting on reliable information about the movement of notorious criminals namely Daljot Singh alias Daljot Punjabi of Dashmesh Nagar, Satwari, Jammu, and Aman Singh alias Anu of district Kathua, loaded with arms and ammunition, coming from Samba towards Jammu, in connection with committing a heinous crime, a special checkpoint was established by the police team from Police Station Miran Sahib and Police Station Satwari.
“When the criminals were signalled to stop on the Ring Road in Miran Sahib area, they fired upon the police party, from their vehicle which was chased, and in retaliatory self-defense fire, one Daljot Punjabi also got injured,” said police.
