Crew from Singapore-flagged oil tanker evacuated, given medical aid

Kochi, Jun 13 (UNI) A crew of the Singapore-flagged oil tanker Eagle Veracruz was evacuated by the Indian Navy's Seaking helicopter after receiving an alert message of a medical emergency on Friday.
The 41-year-old Indian seafarer was successfully recovered from the vessel and safely transferred to a hospital at Kochi for further treatment.
Following the alert message from IFC IOR (Information Fusion Centre, Indian Ocean Region), the Indian Navy's Sea King helicopter from INS Garuda, Kochi, was immediately launched.
