Crackdown on illicit liquor in Rajasthan, excise dept registers 1,122 cases in April

Udaipur, May 13 (UNI) The Excise Department in Rajasthan took effective action under a special drive against illicit liquor production, storage, transportation, and sale. The department registered 1,122 cases in April, the excise commissioner said on Tuesday.
Excise Commissioner Shivprasad Nakate stated that during this period, 504 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor, 6,965 bottles of country liquor, 5,588 bottles of illicit liquor, 1,871 bottles of beer, 21 kg of cannabis, and 20 litres of spirit were seized.
Additional Excise Commissioner Pradeep Singh Sangawat said that under the special drive in April, 1,122 cases were registered, and 625 individuals were arrested under the Rajasthan Excise Act for involvement in illicit liquor production, storage, transportation, and sale.
