CPI exits DMK alliance, says cannot stay in the present situation

Chennai, June 11 (UNI) Taking strong exception to DMK President and former CM M K Stalin questioning the political stability of the TVK regime and doubted whether it would last at least three months, the CPI, which is offering outside support to the Vijay government, on Thursday said it has decided to to quit the DMK-led alliance.
The CPI was no more an ally of the DMK, in Tamil Nadu, CPI State Secretary R Veeapandian told reporters at Coimbatore. He also said the party could not stay in the alliance in the present situation.
The key ally Congress has left the DMK Front and allied with the TVK and joined the Vijay government. Other allies, VCK, IUML too had quit the DMK front. In the present situation, the CPI could no longer continue in the DMK alliance, he said.
