CPI condemns IPS officer’s suicide in Haryana, demands action under Rohith Vemula Act

Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) Oct 10 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) Central Control Commission President Dr K Narayana today expressed deep grief over the suicide of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar in Haryana, terming it a tragic reflection of systemic harassment and discrimination within the police force.
Speaking during the CPI’s five-day political training classes at Varadaiah Palem in Tirupati district, Dr Narayana said the officer ended his life after enduring continuous humiliation from superiors.
He demanded that strict action be taken against those responsible, including Haryana DGP Shatrujith Kumar, under the Rohith Vemula Act, and called for a judicial inquiry and adequate compensation for the bereaved family.

More darshan time allotted to common devotees: TTD EO

Tirumala, Nov 7 (UNI) Asserting that among the available darshan time in a day, priority is given to common devotees only rather than the VIPs and ticket holders, said TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal. Even today, in the avialable Darshan time, over 70 percent time is allotted to common devotees. However, he said TTD Board has formed a committee to resolve the issues in various formats of darshan and ensure a hassle free darshan to the devotees.
