Court rejects bail plea of man accused of forging Maha CM signature

Mumbai, April 18 (UNI) A local court here rejected the bail application filed by a Sangli-based man, Mohammed Ilyas Yakub Momin, who was arrested in October 2023 for allegedly forging the signature of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who was then deputy chief minister of Maharashtra.
While rejecting the plea a second time, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) of Esplanade Court in his order observed, “The accused has been arrested for a very serious offence— committing forgery of the signature of the deputy chief minister of the Government of Maharashtra.”

Nashik, Dec 9 (UNI) Hindutva activists staged a rasta roko agitation on the Nashik-Pune road near Nashik area to demand the arrest of a suspected accused who was carrying beef in the vehicle.
The Hindutva activists caught a driver transporting beef in front of St. Xavier High School on the Nashik-Pune Highway. Citizens staged a road blockade demanding that the beef in the vehicle be kept on the road and the accused is arrested and strict action ensured.
