Court finds young woman guilty of murdering 18-month old some

Kannur, Jan 19 (UNI) Taliparamba Additional District Sessions Court on Monday has found a 27-year-old woman guilty for murdering her 18-months-old son by smashing his head against a seawall at Thayyil beach, in 2020.
Judge K N Prasanth found Saranya , a resident of Koduvally house of Thayyil, guilty under section -302 of the IPC, while acquitting the second accused Nidhin, her boyfriend, due to lack of evidence. The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on January 21, said Public Prosecutor U Rameshan.
The body of Viyyan alias Ponnu (18 months old) was found among the rocks on Thayyil beach on February 17,2020, about 100 metres from Saranya's house. Saranya was arrested the next day and later confessed to the crime. She planned the murder to frame her husband, Pranav of Varam, and live with her paramour, Nithin of Valiyanoor, one of the friends of Pranav.
