Court finds school teacher guilty in Palathayi sexual abuse case

Kannur, Nov 14 (UNI) The Thalassery POCSO fast track court on Friday found a school teacher and BJP leader K Padmarajan (49) from Kadavathur, guilty of rape and offences in the controversial Palathayi sexual abuse case involving a 10-year- old girl and fourth standard student. The verdict came on Children's day.
Judge M T Jalaja Rani pronounced guilty verdict and the quantum of sentence will be given tomorrow.
The accused has been charged under section 376 A.B, and offences under the POCSO Act. The prosecution in which five investigation teams handled the case and Thaliparamba DySP T K Ratnakumar and Coastal police ADGP E J Jayrajan led Special Investigation Team (SIT) submitted the chargesheet added POCSO sections.
