Court acquits Dawood Ibrahim's brother in extortion case

Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) A special court designated under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in Thane acquitted Iqbal Kaskar, younger brother of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, on Friday in an extortion case registered in 2015.

He will, however, remain in custody in a case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) linked to the same offence.

Aaditya Thackeray slams BJP proposal of Congestion Tax for Mumbai

Mumbai Feb 10 (UNI) Sena UBT leader, Aditya Thackeray on Tuesday slammed BJP proposal to impose a 'congestion tax' on single-occupant vehicles in Mumbai's high-traffic zones, saying the ruling party only think of looting people and not giving anything back for the city.
In a social media post reacting on BJP corporator Makarand Narwekar's proposal, UBT leader called it an attempt to "loot" Mumbai, questioning if citizens would be compensated for broken roads, reduced BEST buses, and worsening air quality.

She was sworn in on January 31, following the tragic death of her husband, Ajit Pawar, in a plane crash on January 28.
