Counting of votes: Central Army and police forces to provide security

Thiruvananthapuram, June 22 (UNI) In view of the counting of votes of Nilambur by-poll on June 23, security arrangements have been made with the support of the Central Army and police forces.
"Facilities have been provided for candidates and their agents to observe the counting proceedings as per the instructions of the Election Commission. Public access to the counting centre will not be permitted," Chief Electoral Officer of Kerala Dr. Ratan U Kelkar, has said.
A meeting was convened by the District Election Officer with candidates and representatives of political parties to brief them on the counting procedures.
