Patna, Apr 17 (UNI) A total of 7870 new Covid-19 cases were detected in Bihar which is highest single day peak so far in the state, signalling the fact that pandemic would soon be out of control if concrete measures are not taken without any further delay.
Principal Secretary of Health department Pratyay Amrit told media persons through video conferencing that a total of one lakh 555 testings were conducted on April 16 and 7870 of them were found to be Corona positive cases. Corona infections were increasing alarmingly in various parts of Bihar including state capital Patna, he added.
Principal Secretary said that 1898 new Corona positive cases were detected in last 24 hours in Patna district alone while Corona infections are also increasing at rapid pace in Gaya, Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur. After Patna district, where 1898 cases were detected, 610 cases were detected in Gaya, 541 in Muzaffarpur and 322 cases in Bhagalpur, he stated.
