Corbin Bosch handed debut as MI face LSG

Mumbai, Apr 27 (UNI) South African allrounder Corbin Bosch was handed his debut as Mumbai Indians made two changes for their IPL clash against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium here on Saturday.
Mumbai Indians brought in Karn Sharma in place of Mitchell Santner and included Bosch, who replaced Vignesh Puthur. Lucknow Super Giants, meanwhile, made one change, bringing in Mayank Yadav for Shardul Thakur.
Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and elected to field first.
Speaking at the toss, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya said, "We were planning to bowl, but looking at the heat, we don't mind batting as well. It's about adapting and not thinking too much about the conditions. The ESA game has always been very special; the initiative by the Ambani family gives us added motivation. Let's give the children a good show."
Pandya added that momentum was important but stressed that in the IPL, "every game matters" and it was essential "to do the right things."
LSG captain Rishabh Pant said the decision to bowl first was influenced by the daytime conditions. "In a day game, you want to utilize the surface. We are in a good space. Personally, it’s easier to put the team first and makes decision-making easier. Eventually, you want to play good cricket and treat every day as your first day," he said.
The Impact Substitutes named by Mumbai Indians are Jasprit Bumrah, Raj Bawa, Satyanarayana Raju, Robin Minz, and Reece Topley, while Lucknow Super Giants have listed David Miller, Shahbaz Ahmed, Himmat Singh, Yuvraj Chaudhary, and Akash Maharaj Singh.
The Mumbai Indians Playing XI: Ryan Rickelton (w), Rohit Sharma, Will Jacks, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (c), Naman Dhir, Corbin Bosch, Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Karn Sharma.
The Lucknow Super Giants Playing XI: Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant (w/c), Abdul Samad, Ayush Badoni, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Prince Yadav, Mayank Yadav.
