Congress to intensify ‘MGNREGA Bachao Sangram’, Rahul Gandhi to attend Chaupal in Rae Bareli on Jan 20

New Delhi, Jan 18 (UNI) The Congress today announced a nationwide intensification of its ‘MGNREGA Bachao Sangram’, outlining a phased escalation of protests and grassroots outreach to oppose what it calls the Centre’s “anti-people” changes to the rural employment guarantee scheme.
The decision was taken at a comprehensive online review meeting chaired by Congress general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal, which was attended by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) presidents, party general secretaries and in-charges, and members of the party’s MGNREGA Coordination Committee.
Taking to platform X briefing after the meeting, Venugopal said the review highlighted the “expanding reach and growing success” of the movement across several states.
