Mumbai, May 29 (UNI) Senior Congress leaders will set out on drought inspection tours in the affected areas of Maharashtra from May 31 to gauge the severity of the people's sufferings, the party's state chief Nana Patole announced on Wednesday.
He said the tours were being organised to give justice to the people, adding the situation was severe with many areas not getting drinking water for 15 to 20 days. 75 percent of the state is suffering from drought, but Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has gone on a vacation, said Patole.
"The Congress will begin drought inspection tours from May 31 to give justice to the people. The Congress delegations will go to the fields to observe the drought. A report will be given to the divisional commissioners concerned after visiting each division," Patole. said at a media conference here at the Congress office.
