Congress-NCP alliance candidates campaign with black armbands, allege pressure tactics by BJP

Sangli, Jan 10 (UNI): In the ongoing municipal corporation elections, candidates of the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) alliance have started campaigning while wearing black armbands, they allege the use of pressure tactics by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In Sangliwadi’s Ward No. 13, where there is a direct contest between the Congress-NCP alliance and the BJP, candidates of the Maha Vikas Aghadi have adopted this form of protest during their campaign. They claim that candidates and leaders of the ruling party are intimidating voters and exerting undue pressure on local residents.
As a mark of protest against these alleged threats and coercion, the Maha Vikas Aghadi candidates stated that they are campaigning with black armbands to draw public attention to the issue and register their opposition to such practices during the election process.
