Cong politicising NEET issue, Centre ensured transparency: Sadananda Gowda

Bengaluru, June 13 (UNI) Escalating the political battle over the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), former union Minister and senior BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda on Saturday accused the Congress of attempting to politicise the issue for electoral gains, asserting that the Centre has taken decisive steps to safeguard the integrity and transparency of the examination system.
Addressing reporters here, Gowda said repeated attacks by Congress leaders on the union Government over NEET were aimed at creating confusion among students and parents rather than addressing genuine concerns. He maintained that the Narendra Modi-led government had acted promptly whenever allegations of irregularities surfaced and had strengthened mechanisms to ensure accountability in the conduct of national-level examinations.
"NEET is an issue that concerns the future of lakhs of students. It should not be converted into a political weapon. The Centre has taken every possible measure to ensure transparency and fairness in the examination process," he said.
