Cong leader Ram Reddy joins BRS in presence of KTR at Telangana Bhavan

Cong leader Ram Reddy joins BRS in presence of KTR at Telangana Bhavan

Hyderabad, Apr 20 (UNI) In a significant political development, Attapur Division Congress leader Ram Reddy, along with his followers, joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the presence of BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday.
The event witnessed the participation of former minister and MLA Sabitha Indra Reddy and Rajendra Nagar constituency in-charge Patolla Karthik Reddy.
Addressing the gathering, KTR began by extending Easter greetings to Christian communities and birthday wishes to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
He welcomed the new entrants into the party and expressed confidence in the growing strength of the BRS, especially in the Outer Ring Road areas where, he claimed, the Congress party had lost credibility during the assembly elections.
He predicted that judging by the enthusiasm among party workers from Rajendra Nagar, Patolla Karthik Reddy would soon be elected as MLA. KTR accused the Congress party of coming to power by making "420 promises" and deceiving the people of Telangana.
He criticised the party for bringing national leaders and making grand declarations that, according to him, had failed to materialise at the ground level.
Drawing parallels with past leaders, KTR lauded the legacy of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for launching the Arogyasri scheme and N. Chandrababu Naidu for developing the IT sector. He stressed that good initiatives must be acknowledged, irrespective of political affiliations.
Taking sharp jabs at the Congress leadership, KTR said, "Their words are big, but their actions are small. They demolish poor people's homes in the name of regulations while ignoring illegal constructions of their own leaders." He also questioned their claims of land ownership in Rajendra Nagar, challenging them to prove such claims publicly.
Criticising both the BJP and Congress, KTR alleged a joint effort to weaken the BRS. He claimed that while the BJP stoked religious and caste sentiments, it had failed to deliver any meaningful development in Telangana. "If Hindus are truly in danger, as BJP claims, then it’s a failure of Modi’s leadership,” he remarked.
He also accused the BJP-led Centre of inaction on alleged irregularities involving Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s relatives and questioned why there had been no response to ED cases against Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
Highlighting BRS's role as a people-centric party, KTR said the pink flag symbolised the protection of Telangana’s interests. He announced a massive silver jubilee public meeting on April 27 at Warangal’s Elkathurthi and called on party activists from Hyderabad and Rangareddy to ensure strong participation.
KTR urged BRS cadres in Chevella and Rajendra Nagar to stay alert ahead of upcoming by-elections. He said, "There are two kinds of masons — one group builds, the other demolishes. BRS is here to build Telangana’s future."
