Conditions favourable for further advance of SWMonsoon: Met Dept

Amaravati, May 18 (UNI) The Meteorological Centre here on Sunday stated that conditions are favourable for the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon over additional parts of the South Arabian Sea, the Maldives and Comorin area, some more parts of the South and Central Bay of Bengal, and parts of the Northeast Bay of Bengal during the next two to three days.
In its daily weather report issued here, the Centre mentioned that a trough from the cyclonic circulation over west Vidarbha to Rayalaseema across North Interior Karnataka at 1.5 km above mean sea level continues to persist.
It also noted that the upper air cyclonic circulation over the southeast Bay of Bengal now lies over the southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal between 1.5 and 5.8 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestward with height.
