Complex treatment successfully performed at SVIMS Hospital under TTD Pranadanam scheme

Tirupati, Apr 18 (UNI) A complex medical procedure to treat a dangerous case of brain fungal infection was successfully carried out at Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) Hospital, the Medical Superintendent, Dr Ram, announced.
A middle-aged woman from Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh was admitted to SVIMS Hospital with complaints of severe headache, reduced vision in her right eye, and drooping of the right eyelid, the hospital said in a release here on Saturday.
Following detailed medical examinations, doctors diagnosed her with a dangerous brain fungal infection black fungus identified as invasive rhino-orbito-cerebral dual fungal infection (Aspergillus and mucormycosis).

Chennai, May 15 (UNI) Reiterating his demand for scrapping NEET in view of cancellations of exams held already following allegations of question paper leak, former TN CM and DMK President M K Stalin on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promulgate an Ordinance--since Parliament is not in session--to amend section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, to rescind NEET for the academic year 2026–2027 and allow State Governments to make admissions as per the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations.
