Complaint filed seeking withdrawal of former Chief Secretary’s Re-employment as HPSEBL chairman

Shimla, Nov 8 (UNI) The re-employment of former Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena as Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has come under scrutiny after a complaint alleged violations of High Court orders and central government guidelines.
Atul Sharma, a resident of Shimla, has written to the Secretary (MPP & Power) of the Himachal Pradesh Government, urged immediate withdrawal of the notification dated September 30, 2025, through which Saxena was appointed Chairman, HPSEBL.
The complaint argues that this appointment is “illegal and in violation of DoPT guidelines” as well as contrary to a Himachal Pradesh High Court judgment delivered in CW PIL No. 201 of 2017 on December 19, 2017.

Victim's parents move SC against acquittal or computation of death sentence

Shimla, Dec 12 (UNI) The family of four-year-old murder victim Yug Gupta has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Himachal Pradesh High Court’s September 23 judgment that commuted the death sentences of two convicts and acquitted the third.
Family sources told UNI that Yug’s father, Vinod Gupta, has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the apex court, which has been accepted for hearing.
