Collision kills eleven on Kalyan–Ahilyanagar highway

Ahilyanagar, Apr 13 (UNI) A devastating road accident on the Kalyan–Ahilyanagar highway in Maharashtra on Monday left eleven people dead after a pickup vehicle collided head-on with a cement mixer near Rayate village.
The crash, which occurred around 11 am on a newly constructed bridge, has raised serious concerns about road safety and vehicle overloading.
According to police officials, the pickup vehicle, travelling from Murbad towards Kalyan, was carrying twelve persons including the driver. The impact of the collision was so severe that several passengers were trapped inside the mangled vehicle, making rescue operations extremely challenging. Teams from the Titwala police station rushed to the scene and, with assistance from local residents, extricated the victims from the wreckage.
