Cochin Airport commissions full-body scanners to speed up passenger screening

Kochi, Jan 23 (UNI) With the aim of expediting passenger security checks and easing congestion at screening points, Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has commissioned full-body scanners on a trial basis at the airport.
An Automatic Tray Retrieval System (ATRS), intended to speed up the movement of cabin baggage during security screening, has also been introduced as part of the initiative to enhance operational efficiency.
The new systems are expected to significantly reduce waiting time at security checkpoints while improving the overall passenger experience. The full-body scanners, once fully operational, are designed to streamline the screening process by minimising manual intervention.
