CM flays Cong leader over Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj-Tipu Sultan comparison

Nagpur, Feb 14 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday strongly criticized state Congress chief Harshwardhan Sapkale for comparing the legendary Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan.
Terming the comparison as highly reprehensible, Fadnavis said Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj established Swarajya, freed common people from the clutches of the Mughals and truly created a state for the citizens.
"Tipu Sultan killed thousands of Hindus. I have never seen such flattery for the erstwhile Mysore ruler," Fadnavis said, adding "we will not tolerate this".
