Hyderabad, July 14 (UNI) Technology has become a reason for increasing bad tendencies in society, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy alleged and stated we can prevent many problems by keeping children away from mobile phones.
Addressing the Student Voluntary Policing Programme at JNTU here on Saturday evening, Revanth said the undesirable consequences can be prevented if we identify the problems in society and solve them.
The reason for the psychological weakness of children is that the family system is collapsing fast, he pointed out, and said that a that a joint family helps children grow strong mentally.
To prepare mentally strong children, they need to be taught social policing and community policing, the CM said.
Apart from teaching subjects, school and college students should inculcate the habit of participating in moral policing. He suggested that the management develop a system to monitor behavioural changes in children.
The state government decided to promote sports and planned to establish a sports stadium in every assembly constituency, he said.
The government will take some important decisions to encourage sportsmen in the future, he added.
Urgent need for NSS volunteers in schools and colleges, he said, and the state will be promoted as a drug-free society by developing a network to provide information to the police instantly.
The government has already declared a war on drugs, and he appealed to all to help keep the state free from drug abuse.
Telangana, which is known for struggles and movements, should be a drug-free state in the country, he said.
Ordering the police to establish a moral policing system in all inter- and degree colleges on the lines of Kerala. All kinds of problems can be solved through moral policing, the CM said.
The elected representatives are considered the most responsible in society, and they do not run away from problems or fight them, he added.
