CM announces major pre-Diwali bonanza to different categories of employees

Shimla, Oct 9 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced an increase in the honorarium of 21,115 mid-day meal workers by Rs 500, taking it to Rs. 5,000 per month.
Similarly, the honorarium of 877 SMC C&V teachers has been raised from Rs 15,509 to Rs. 16,009, and that of 833 SMC lecturers and DPEs by Rs. 500 to Rs 19,378 per month. The 491 SMC TGTs will now receive Rs 19,378 per month after a Rs 500 hike, while 62 SMC JBTs will now get Rs 13,762 per month while 31 water carriers would now receive Rs. 5,500 per month after a Rs 500 increase.
An official spokesman said that besides, the daily wages of daily wagers and part-time workers have been increased by Rs. 25, bringing it to Rs. 425 per day. The honorarium of stitching instructors has been enhanced by Rs 500 and that of 1,399 Panchayat Chowkidars also by Rs. 500 and thus taking it to Rs 8,500 after per month.

Srinagar/Chandigarh, Nov 10 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police, in coordination with Haryana Police, have seized nearly 2,900 kg of explosives and arrested seven suspects, including two doctors, in a major anti-terror operation spanning multiple states. Officials said the seizure included a large cache of arms and materials suspected to be used for terror-related activities.

Haryana police tightens crackdown on drunk and rash driving after 4,000 fatal accidents

Chandigarh, Nov 10 (UNI) Alarmed by the rising number of road accidents in Haryana, the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapur has ordered a state-wide campaign against reckless and drunken driving, calling the spate of crashes a “human-created calamity.”
According to police data, more than 4,000 people have lost their lives in traffic mishaps between January and October this year, five times higher than deaths from violent crimes.
